A copy of a photo from my family's collection showing my maternal grandfather who was signalman at Crosby Garrett until the early 1920s.  Unfortunately I do not know the identity of the people sat at the front of the Box.

I regret that I do not know when the photograph was taken or when my grandfather left Crosby Garrett.  My mother was born in the village in 1919 and the family, my mother had an older brother who worked on the railway when he left school, lived in No 1 Midland Cottages, now re-maned Railway Cottages, part of Location ID 269590).  At sometime during the early 1920's grandfather moved the family to Earby where he worked in the signal box and then to Woodlesford, Nr Leeds where he worked in the signal box.  He died in 1947 in Woodlesford shortly before his 60th birthday.

I am told that the signal box at Damems on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway was brought from Earby but I do not know whether it is the one that he worked in.
