Mark R. Harvey has a degree in Geography & Economics and more than thirty years of professional experience in project management, technical writing and systems design. He led FoSCL guided walks from the Settle-Carlisle railway on a voluntary basis for more than 25 years. He has a passion for "photography with a purpose" and also has a lifelong interest in the history and operation of Britain's railways generally and of the Midland Railway Company's main line in particular.

Mark has been actively involved with the SCRCA Project since its inception in 2012. He designed and developed the web-based SCRCA Project database (which is now promoted as the SCRCA web-portal) and, in partnership with Nigel Mussett, compiled the Draft Structure List that identified the scale and defined the scope of the project. (The Draft Structure List became the Master Structure List which evolved into the Gazetteer.)

Mark is the SCRCA Project Coordinator and is the first point of contact for all matters pertaining to the SCRCA Project. If you have any questions or comments about the project, you can contact Mark directly via the SCRCA Project Contact Form.
