A copy of a photo from my family's collection showing my maternal grandfather who was signalman at Crosby Garrett until the early 1920s.
I regret that I do not know when the photograph was taken or when my grandfather left Crosby Garrett. My mother was born in the village in 1919 and the family, my mother had an older brother who worked on the railway when he left school, lived in No 1 Midland Cottages, now re-maned Railway Cottages, part of Structure ref 269590). At sometime during the early 1920's grandfather moved the family to Earby where he worked in the signal box and then to Woodlesford, Nr Leeds where he worked in the signal box. He died in 1947 in Woodlesford shortly before his 60th birthday.
