and the following text in the centre:
This plaque was unveiled at Appleby Station to commemorate the supply of the Millionth steel sleeper by Corus Rail (formerly British Steel) for incorporation into Railtrack's infrastructure.
It was installed by First Engineering Ltd. on behalf of Railtrack North West, as part of the Settle and Calrlise Line Track Refurbishment Project.
