Image Notes

This photograph of the tank-house and 'down' water crane taken circa 1970 includes part of a timber-clad structure located at the extreme north-west end of the up platform (see extreme right of image).

It is not currently known when this structure was either constructed or demolished. The structure is not marked on the Midland Railway Company's landplan published in 1912, but it is visible in cab-view / driver's-eye view videos recorded during April 1984 and also on 1st May 1992. There is no sign of the structure in footage shot during 2002.

The purpose of the structure is also unknown.

If you have any information regarding this structure and / or any image(s) of it that you would be willing to share, please contact the SCRCA Project Team via the 'Contact us' facility.
