This image (reference ct00410) has been uploaded to the SCRCA web-portal with the kind permission of the Local Studies team at Carlisle Library and it is protected by copyright (Carlisle Library © cumbriaimagebank). It is a photograph taken from Summer Hill in 1910 which provides a rare view of the Midland Railway Company's site at Petteril Bridge / Durran Hill. (Summer Hill lies to the southeast of Carlisle city centre and to the east of London Road.) The camera is pointing almost due east and the buildings in the foreground are part of the Albion Mill Complex (formerly known as Mains Mill, a.k.a. 'The Mains').
