Access to the structure is difficult. The land to the west of the railway is privately owned and the permission of the landowner or tenant is required before entering the land. One must then cross the railway by one of the few over bridges. On the eastern side the land is open access which is difficult to walk through, there being no gates or gaps in walls to help make progress easy. The ground is very wet for most of the year.
This is an image taken from the western side of the railway after having obtained permission from the land owner to go onto his property to take photographs for the Friends SCRCA project. It is difficult to get a clean, clear shot of the opening of the culvert due to the trees and the steep cutting in which the stream flows from under the railway.
