A 'barrow-crossing' at a railway station. These were originally installed at almost all of the stations within the SCRCA to enable station staff and passengers to easily cross the line from one platform to the other. The vast majority of barrow-crossings have been removed for safety reasons. A few remain in situ for passenger use, although some of these can only be used when accompanied by authorised railway personnel.
