SCRCA Location Variant: Level Crossing - Other

Level crossing for a road, track or path of unknown status, i.e. recent Ordnance Survey Maps do NOT depict it as a Public Right of Way (PROW).

Many of the crossings in this category have been removed for safety reasons, although some remain in use as 'accomodation crossings' (providing access to residential buildings) or 'occupation crossings' (providing access to land for farmers, etc). A few of these crossings may also be public rights of way, although this cannot be determined from recent Ordnance Survey maps.
