Plate 54 is an un-dated image of the north portal of Blea Moor Tunnel. A feature of the tunnel mouth is the stepped channels down both sides of the portal which enables beck and flood water to be contained as it runs of the fells. On reaching ground level the water is diverted below track level. Plate 55 is an image of Dent Head (see SCRCA structure 251230) from the south from May 1965 taken from above Blea Moor Tunnel north portal.
