Plate 61 is a view from the west of Kell Beck Culvert which is thought to be the largest on the line with a span of 10ft 6ins.The culvert falls through 16ft in small steps. the relieving arches over the main pointed arch help to strengthen the spandrel wall supporting the 50ft embankment retaining wall above.
Figure 25 is an official drawing of the culvert (No 90) for Kell Beck.
