Plate 69 is a typical winter image from October 1963 looking north. In the foreground is Bridge 99 (see SCRCA structure 253890) in course of reconstruction. On the hill above the tunnel mouth the irregular outline of a spoil heap can be seen adjacent to a ventilating shaft (see SCRCA structure 254360 and 254370). The fogman's hut, opposite the signal is, for some unknown reason, facing the wrong direction; it was usual to lay them flat when not in use.
