Plate 73 is a view looking north taken from above the northern portal of Rise Hill Tunnel (see SCRCA structure 254840) on 1 October 1957. Bridge 102 can be seen adjacent to the Platelayers' Hut (see SCRCA structure 254920).
Plate 74 is a detail view of Bridge 102 in October 1984. The bridge is officially known as Handleys. It shows the typically constructed segmentally-arched underbridge. Many of these small bridges were, for some reason, constructed without a parapet wall, the protective element being provided by iron railings.
