Description: A context view from the south showing Settle Junction (foreground-centre) and Bridge SKW1-50 (centre). When compared with the level tracks of the line to Lancaster (left-centre), the uphill gradient of the Settle-Carlisle line (right-centre) is clearly evident.

General notes: This photograph was taken by Bob Swallow. The clarity / quality of the image has been adversely affected by the transfer from 35mm slide to digital image. However, it is still clear enough to provide interesting and valuable information.
