This photograph of Ribblehead Viaduct 'in context' was taken from the top of the station drive using a powerful telephoto lens. Whernside forms the backdrop and the Station Inn adds interest to the foreground. The train crossing the viaduct is the 07:48 service from Leeds to Carlisle. It is formed from a pair of class 158 DMUs in northern livery: unit numbers 158794 at the front, 158816 at the rear. There is a light dusting of snow on the ground and a heavy frost on the roof tops & tall vegetation.
