This image was taken from above the south portal of Blea Moor tunnel using a camera equipped with an extremely powerful telephoto lens. This has allowed an expansive scene with much extraneous moorland to be 'compressed' into very useful image that is completely filled with archaeology relating to the construction of the Settle Carlisle Railway. Horizontal and vertical distances are seriously distorted (shortened), but relative positioning is very clear.
