The waiting room on the 'Up' platform of Langwathby Station was constructed during the first half of 1998 and the official opening ceremony was held on May 1st, 1998. FoSCL has a long term lease on this structure and is responsible for its ongoing maintenance. Relevant material is included in three separate editions of the FoSCL Journal:
- Page 1 of the February 1998 edition contains a line-drawing showing the structure's front elevation.
- Pages 16 & 17 of the May 1998 edition contain photos of the structure during and immediately after construction.
- Pages 11 & 12 of the August 1998 edition contain a brief summary of the project (including the reasons / justification for it) and an account of the opening ceremony.
