Description: Fowler Class 2P 4-4-0 locomotive number 40613 in the north-western bay platform at Hellifield Station. The roof of the coaling stage is visible above a pair of parked passenger carriages (left-centre). Part of the main 'Down' platform (right-foreground) and parts of the main station building and station canopy (right-centre) are also visible.
Date: Not known, but probably early 1950s.
General notes: This image forms part of Bob Swallow's personal collection. Its clarity / quality has been adversely affected by the transfer from print to 35mm slide and, more recently, from slide to digital image. However, it is still clear enough to provide interesting and valuable information.
