This visually impressive Grade II listed bridge at Garsdale Head carries the Settle & Carlisle Railway over the trans-Pennine Sedbergh - Hawes Road (now known as the A684). It was one of the first railway-related structures to be built in the area and it was structurally complete by the end of 1872. It features relieving arches in each of the four wing walls and the single skew-arch has a diameter of 39 feet 6 inches. The entire bridge is constructed from locally quarried sandstone, including the arch.
