SCRCA Location Introduction

During 2024-5, a new rail link for Horton Quarry was constructed, partly on the site of the spur for the original quarry sidings. The first loaded test train departed from the newly reinstated rail link on Tuesday 17th June 2025. By mid August, two or three trains were leaving the quarry each week (each comprising a class 60 GBRf loco and twenty-two loaded 70 ton wagons).
