SCRCA Structure 256725: Reservoir for Garsdale Station

SCRCA Location Introduction

This reservoir was built by the Midland Railway Company to supply water to nearby Garsdale Station (see Site 256661), including the adjacent tank house (see Structure 256520). It collected water from Mud Beck Gill and its smaller tributary. The date of construction has not yet been ascertained, but it was certainly prior to 1911 (and probably shortly before or shortly after the line opened for goods traffic in 1875).
