This structure was constructed long after the production of the 1911/12 set of Midland Railway Company 'land plans'. However, Sheet 62 of the land plan set in the FoSCL archive includes a hand-drawn arrow linking the following handwritten annotation to the location of the underbridge now known as SAC/260C: Deed of Grant to British Gypsum Ltd for u/g conveyor Doc. No. 27879 Dated 28-10-1977

SCRCA Note: An introduction to the Fylde Water Board Yard at Long Preston

This small private goods yard was constructed by the Fylde Water Board (FWB) in 1919-1920 to create a railhead (transhipment point) for the equipment and materials needed to facilitate the construction of Stocks Reservoir. My Grandparents lived at Foredale Cottages so for as long as I can remember I was aware of and fascinated by the quarry workings, the sidings and the main line.
